Top Three Historic Structures in Austin

In case you haven’t known, Austin is very popular and home to several varieties of visible and renowned landmarks in Texas and the United States. To name a few, three of the most popular are the Mount Bonnel, the Driskill Hotel, and of course the Texas Capitol. Austin is also home to several beautiful natural reserves in the country.

The Mount Bonnel, also well-known as Cover Park, can be sited at the northwest part of Austin downtown. It is names after a soldier and journalist who fought for the independence of Texas. So if you want to gain a wide viewpoint of Austin, then this is the right place to be. The view around this historic monument is just breath-taking as you get to see the Austin in its glory. Standing at 750 feet, the monument simply offers an amazing panorama of Colorado Rover, downtown, as well surrounding hills.

The legendary Driskill Hotel is another historic landmark in Austin and is widely and interestingly thought to be haunted. This Romanesque structure was built by Jesse Driskill during the later years of 1880s. While the Texas Capitol was still on its way to completion, the Driskill Hotel served as the state legislature. Originally, the hotel has four stories with marble floors. It also has a very huge archway on top of the 2-storey verandas.

The State Capitol of Texas is by far the largest building capitol in the Unites States. It has an impressive rotunda is one of the highest points in Austin. This is one of the best places to visit in Austin which comes to life during special holidays and big events.
